You can find the link to Igor Sakharov’s online lesson here, which i followed when creating the painting.

This time painting i already had the idea of creating the blog in my mind so i did take pictures of the work in progress. I am so happy I did! They show main stages of creating a painting. Here they are:

I started with the water mixable paints (ultramarine and white) thinned with a little water, to get rid of the white canvas color:

After that, i used my blue paint to sketch the main objects of the painting. Later, added some shadows and lights. Worked on the sky and the sea:

Continued with the buildings in warm beige – yellow tones:

Loved the idea of creating a road with wide long strokes of several warm colors:

Added purple to the mountains on the background to show that they are remote. Went through the trees and the street lights. Here is the final result:

I like how this painting looks like in my entrance hallway. It has this vacation aura, which is always relaxing and calming:)
